π½οΈ BIB GOURMAND
Guru Lukshmi
7070 St. Barbara Blvd., up at Derry and McLaughlin. The first Mississauga restaurant ever to take a Bib Gourmand β Michelin’s award for serious food at a fair price. Purely vegetarian South Indian, and the inspectors called it the “undisputed champion of dosas”. It sprawls across several bays of a plaza and still fills up. Start with the Mysore bhaji dosa; the idli, vada and uttapam come out fresh with hot sambar.

β RECOMMENDED
Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro
33 City Centre Dr., by Square One. Modern Indian in a loud, colourful room that gets rowdy on weekends with live music. Chettinad chicken tacos and panipuri shots sit next to a properly rich lamb roganjosh and paneer in a heavy onion-tomato gravy. Recommended in the guide rather than awarded β Michelin’s way of saying the kitchen is doing real work.

π IN THE GUIDE
Mama Fatma
A Turkish grill house that appears under Mississauga on the MICHELIN Guide’s own listing page for the city, alongside the two entries above.
No Mississauga restaurant holds a star. That says more about what the star list looks for than it does about the food out here β the Bib Gourmand is the category that actually reaches our plazas.
